Mothers' Union works in partnership with the Clewer Initiative to make people aware of slavery in our own communities.
It may be a surprise to learn that in 2022 in the UK, there were over 100,000 men, women & children trapped in modern slavery
In Manchester a display in the Cathedral in October 2021
attracted a lot of interest - members had knitted
over 2000 links for a chain displayed there.
This number represented the likely number in slavery
in our city.
